Bliss Joseph opens up on Nollywood struggles
Fast-rising Nigerian actress Ogechukwu Anasor, popularly known as Bliss Joseph, has opened up about her journey in Nollywood, personal boundaries, and views on cosmetic enhancements.
Bliss, who hails from Enugu State and has been in the industry for 11 years, shared that resilience and self-belief have been crucial to navigating the entertainment world.
Reflecting on past challenges, she recalled a traumatic experience with a rapist who deceived her into believing he was a “destiny helper” during her early years in Nollywood.
Speaking on her career limits, the actress stated that she has clear boundaries regarding on-screen roles. “I cannot kiss an actress on set or go completely nude,” she affirmed, emphasizing the importance of staying true to her values despite industry pressures.
Bliss expressed her preference for aging naturally but acknowledged that cosmetic surgery is a personal choice. While she currently embraces her natural beauty, she admitted she would consider surgery if she ever felt uncomfortable with her body.
“It’s more about being confident and happy with who you are than societal expectations,” she explained.
Regarding face fillers and Botox, the actress admitted that there is pressure in the movie industry to enhance one’s appearance. However, she prefers to embrace aging gracefully.
Looking ahead, Bliss aims to take on diverse roles, work on impactful projects, and grow as an actress. She also prioritizes her mental and physical well-being while strengthening her bonds with family and loved ones.
“My goal is to be better than I was yesterday,” she concluded.
