‘Boy Meets World’ actress Maitland Ward says she is treated ‘with more respect’ as a p0rn star
Former "Boy Meets World" actress Maitland Ward has revealed that she feels more empowered and respected as a p0rn star than she did during her television career.
“I really think people treat me with more respect now, honestly, especially even in Hollywood right now,” Ward told Fox News in a recent interview.
Ward, 48, shared that Hollywood executives are “much more receptive” to her story as she works on pitching her memoir into a TV format.
“They’re so respectful, and they’re so positive about my story, especially younger people and different people that I speak to in Hollywood and stuff,” she added.
Ward made a name for herself starring as Rachel McGuire in "Boy Meets World" from 1998 to 2000 and appearing in the soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful" from 1994 to 1996 before transitioning into the adult entertainment industry in 2019.
Reflecting on her career shift, Ward said she was surprised by the overwhelmingly positive response she received.
“I really got a lot of positivity overall, which shocked everyone I knew. Everybody thought people were just going to rip me apart, and I was going to be judged and raked across the coals, but I got so much positivity. I think it’s because I was so positive about it, and I was so happy about it.”
In her 2022 memoir, "Rated X," she described becoming an adult entertainer as a "soul-changing" experience.
“I had new confidence and a full-time job, and it wasn’t because I smiled for any higher-ups. The validation that I was given, especially after being told that no one would ever pay a dime to see me sexy, was soul-changing.”
Ward also credited her husband, Terry Baxter, for supporting her decision to enter the p0rn industry. “He saw a truth in me that I wasn’t going to cross the boundary of … getting with guys, basically. He saw that I had a lot of these fantasies.”
The couple has been married since 2006, and Ward continues to build her brand in the adult entertainment industry.
