Detective Melissa Mercado, the NYPD officer who gained attention for appearing as a str!pper in a provocative music video, has been removed from active s3x crimes cases while the department conducts a review.

Law enforcement sources confirm that Mercado, who is known for her strong investigative work, is no longer handling cases in the Special Victims Unit, which is responsible for investigating alleged s3x crimes, pending the outcome of the review.

The NYPD is currently looking into whether Mercado followed proper procedures for off-duty work. All NYPD officers are required to submit paperwork if they are engaged in a secondary job while off-duty.

It remains unclear if Mercado violated any department rules by appearing in the "Doin That" music video, where she was featured in a bra and G-string. The New York Post was first to report on the investigation into Mercado's actions.

The detective went viral after her appearance in the video, where she danced provocatively in a club, VIP room, and even on a bed in lingerie. S-Quire, the rapper behind the song, and the music video's director, Pitch Perfect, told TMZ that Mercado was referred to them by a casting agency, and they were unaware she was a police officer.

The NYPD is yet to provide an official comment on the ongoing review.
